Helping business travellers visit the Land of Nod

Notice anything different about the skies of Canary Wharf on Friday? If you were in the area you may have seen these innovative ‘Z’ bubbles floating around. The fantastic bubbles formed part of engaging face-to-face promotional activity we delivered for Continental Airlines and its 180 degree BusinessFirst® flat bed seats.

The activity took place next to Canary Wharf tube station to reach the target audience of business travellers and was centred on the theme of ‘The Land of Nod’ – highlighting how business passengers can enjoy a great night’s sleep on the airline’s overnight flights from London to New York thanks to the flat bed seat.

The ‘Zzz…’ bubbles filled the sky as a promotions team dressed in pyjamas and dressing gowns gave flyers to passers-by, offering them the chance to win two return BusinessFirst® flights to New York by logging onto www.the-land-of-nod.co.uk

More than 1,000 people have already entered the competition; with all entrants able to view an online video demonstration of what makes the flat bed seat so comfortable, including its iPod® connectivity and 15.4” LCD touch screen entertainment system.

And the winner is…

We’re delighted with the fantastic turnout to last night’s private view of G-Technology’s by Hitachi’s Driven Creativity gallery exhibition – held at The Brick Lane Gallery.

Many amateur and professional creatives gathered with Hitachi reps to celebrate the showcase of shortlisted film, photography and music entrants from G-Technology’s Driven Creativity Competition. Also in attendance were the jury members, Grammy-award winning music producer (for Sting!), Kipper; acclaimed photographer, Tim Flach and Academy-award winning filmmaker, Scott Hillier!

We also revealed the overall winner of the competition at the reception, which is ‘The Henley Swim’ by Iain Weir. Check out the unique photograph below which captures the misty, early morning gathering of swimmers set to embark on a journey down the Henley-on-Thames river.

The exhibition is now open to the public until November 22nd, from 1pm-6pm everyday, so be sure to visit if you get the chance!

VIP celebration of one new view

Following our official launch of London’s newest shopping centre – One New Change; last night saw an exciting gathering of VIPs to celebrate the launch in style! Guests were able to step onto the development’s amazing rooftop terrace for the first time to enjoy a dramatic new view over St Paul’s Cathedral, along with an exclusive performance by Alisha Dixon and St Paul’s Cathedral choir. Delicious canapes and drinks were served to guests throughout the eve, with many celebrities in attendance including the actress Meera Syal, last year’s X Factor contestant Jamie ‘Afro’ Archer and burlesque dancer Immodesty Blaize.

Visit the Driven Creativity gallery exhibition

If you have some free time next week, be sure to visit G-Technology by Hitachi’s Driven Creativity Competition gallery exhibition – held at The Brick Lane Gallery in London, November 17th-22nd, 2010.

We’re organising the exhibition, which will showcase all of the awe-inspiring shortlisted film, photography and music entries from G-Technology’s Driven Creativity Competition. What’s great about the competition is it not only recognises and rewards the aesthetic qualities of creative work, but also the invention and drive that went into creating it, with some inspiring stories behind the creation of each entry.

The overall competition winner – of a grand prize of €5,000 – will also be revealed at an exclusive private view of the exhibition on November 16th, 2010; bringing together shortlisted  entrants, jury panel members, the audio, music, film and technology press, G-Technology representatives and its customers, to network and to admire all of the showcased creativity.

As developers of innovative storage solutions for those looking to push creativity beyond the limits, G-Technology’s first ever Driven Creativity Competition is a fantastic way for them to continue to support and celebrate the creative community.

Transforming London with One New Change

We’re delighted that the official opening of London’s newest, ultra stylish shopping centre – One New Change – was a fantastic success!

Uniquely located next to St Paul’s Cathedral, the unveiling of Land Security’s biggest and most prestigious development attracted more than 20,000 visitors to the opening ceremony and received coverage on all the major news channels, including live broadcast from Sky News and a front page on the Times.

We created an exciting array of activity to kick the weekend off – including the opening ceremony, an exclusive performance from the Hoosiers, a magical family Halloween show by the House of Fairy Tales and a Handbags & Heels Exchange, in aid of Prince’s Trust. We will be continuing to deliver launch activity over the next two weeks, including a glittering VIP party, a city insights seminar held by ex-Dragon, Richard Farleigh and four sold-out GQ and Grazia fashion shows.

Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect, Jean Nouvel, One New Change offers popular fashion retailers and restaurants from top-class chefs such as Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey. It also has one of the UK’s highest rooftop terraces, offering a wonderful new view over London. Keep your eyes open for news on how we launch the spectacular view over the next couple of weeks!
